UMP celebrates 6 Protege successfully completed Perdana Fellowship Programme
PUTRAJAYA, 29 March 2023 - A total of six proteges of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) successfully completed the Perdana Protege UMP Fellowship programme after serving for six months to the management of the university including the Chairman of the UMP Board of Directors, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman and UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin.
They were celebrated at the UMP Protege Appreciation Ceremony for the UMP Perdana Fellows programme that ends on 31 March 2023.
According to Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz, the proteges were successfully exposed to aspects of leadership in the university not only in daily operations but also in shaping thinking as a leader in decision making at the highest level.
“The soft skills they have acquired over the past six months are not only at UMP but are also in corporate organisations including UMW Holdings and Perodua to produce real proteges,” he said, congratulating the university management for successfully fulfilling the challenge of realising the University Board’s aspirations.
Thus, with the success, the UMP 2.0 Perdana Fellowship Programme will commence by offering opportunities for alumni to participate in this programme to produce more proteges in the future.
The UMP 2.0 Perdana Fellows Programme will update and improve modules in line with organisational developments that require strategic-minded leaders who can help organisational leaders make decisions thoroughly and effectively.
He believed these proteges had been given better opportunities, more competitive and willing to take on more challenging jobs.
The proteges consisted of Nur Ainaa Adhreena Muhamad Shukri who was stationed at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor (PNC), Muhammad Syamim Mazlan who was stationed at the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) and Muhammad Aizat Azed at the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni).
While Muhammad Aminuddin Rosnizan was placed in the Registry Department, Nurul Shuhada Haji Mohamed was placed in the Institute of Civilisation and Strategic Studies (ITKAS) and Muhammad Nur Aqmal Nazri in the Bursary Department.
In the ceremony, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman was present to deliver certificates of appreciation to the proteges at Hotel Zenith Putrajaya.
Also present were the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yusserrie Zainuddin, Deputy Vice-Chancellors and top management of UMP.
The UMP Protege Programme is the first UMP programme organised to provide an opportunity for UMP alumni to gain experience working as Professional Officers in UMP Management for six months.
