UMPSA's TVET Adventure: Basic Digital Design Training for SMK Kuala Krau students
KUALA KRAU, 11 October 2024 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) provided Basic Digital Design training to students of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kuala Krau as part of the recent UMPSA@Kuala Krau TVET Adventure.
The Basic Digital Design training was conducted by Siti Nur Irsyadiah Salimi, a designer from the Centre of Instructional Resources & e-Learning (CIReL), for 30 students.
The students received basic training in the use of Canva software, focusing on skills for creating posters that can assist them in preparing more interactive learning materials.
This basic digital design training was one of five programmes organised by UMPSA, held concurrently at SMK Kuala Krau.
Other activities included TVET programmes, motivational sessions, English language activities, and a programme for special students, involving a total of 50 UMPSA staff members.
An Exchange of Letters of Intent (LOI) also took place between UMPSA and SMK Kuala Krau, officiated by the Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, and the Principal of SMK Kuala Krau, Hamdan Ramli.
The TVET Adventure in Kuala Krau also featured a community service programme involving the preparation of bubur lambuk (a type of porridge) and a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity that offered free motorcycle oil changes.
A Maulidur Rasul lecture was also held at the An-Nur Mosque in Kuala Krau, delivered by the Dean of the Centre for Human Sciences (PSK), Dr. Mohamad Hilmi Mat Said.
Additionally, the UMPSA Foundation provided donations and assistance to local residents in need.
