Tenpin Bowling UMP women’s team won gold medal in 2023 East Coast IPT Tenpin Bowling Championship Series 3
TUNJONG, 13 July 2023 - The Tenpin Bowling Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) women’s team won a gold medal in the group category and won medals in each category at the 2023 East Coast IPT Tenpin Bowling tournament at Lite Superbowl JB7, Tunjong, Kelantan recently.
The three-day tournament was participated by Suriani Suhaimi from the Bursary Office, Nurul Najlaa Zakaria from the Registrar’s Office, Ezrinda Mohd Zaihidee from the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM) and Siti Murzalina Sh Murad from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology (FTKEE).
In addition, Ezrinda Mohd Zaihidee won second place for the Women’s Individual category and Siti Murzalina Sh Murad won third place for the same category.
The pair Ezrinda and Siti Murzalina won the Women’s Doubles category after defeating the women’s team of the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM).
Meanwhile, Nurul Najlaa Zakaria from the Registrar’s Office and Norshuhada Muhd Nordin from the Centre for Information and Communication Technology (PTMK) won third place in the Women’s Doubles category.
Ezrinda also expressed her gratitude and joy when the UMP team won medals in each category.
“Our respective work constraints make it quite difficult for us to undergo group training.
“Training sessions can only be done individually.
“But alhamdulillah, for the team spirit, we managed to succeed this time,” she said.
The men’s team consisted of Mustafa Kamal Daud and Mohd Roslan Muhamad from the Centre for Information and Communication Technology, Associate Professor Dr. Zuwairie Ibrahim from the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronics Engineering Technology (FTKPM) and Irwan Shah Rizal Amir Hamzah from the Student Affairs and Alumni Department (JHEPA).
Mustafa Kamal Daud and Associate Professor Dr. Zuwairie Ibrahim won first place in the Men’s Doubles category when they managed to beat the doubles from IIUM.
Mustafa Kamal Daud did not expect this victory because of the great competition, but he was grateful and thanked the tournament organisers.
“Thank you to UMP, especially the Sports Centre, who gave a lot of encouragement in this success.
“It is hoped that all teams can continue their efforts to make the university proud,” he said.
At the same time, six of them had the opportunity to compete in the Master All Event Category.
It involved the top ten athletes in overall scores.
Director of the Sports and Culture Centre, Mohd Aznorizamin Ismail also congratulated the UMP Tenpin Boling Team on the victory, taking home three gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
The East Coast IPT Tenpin Bowling Championship is organised by the Kelantan Health and Community Wellbeing Club of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in collaboration with the Sports and Recreation Centre, USM Health Campus and Lite Superbowl JB7.
Besides UMP, the tournament was also joined by several IPTs including Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Politeknik Kota Bharu.
