 UMPSA excels at 153rd best in Asia in
QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) continues to demonstrate its excellence in higher education, ranking among the top 200 universities in Asia, placing 153rd overall and 41st in Southeast Asia, according to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings: Asia 2026, announced today.
This achievement reflects UMPSA’s continuous commitment to strengthening academic excellence and international reputation, with an improvement from its 159th position last year.
For the 2026 edition, UMPSA is ranked within the top 11% in Asia in the assessment released by the London-based rating agency, Quacquarelli Symonds Limited.
A total of 1,526 universities in Asia were listed in this year’s edition, with 550 of them being new entries.
This proud accomplishment also places UMPSA as the 19th best university in Malaysia and the top institution among the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN) universities.

UMPSA deepens global partnerships through official visit to Manchester Metropolitan University and Staff Training Programme

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) continued to strengthen its global partnerships through an official visit to Manchester Metropolitan University (Manchester Met), led by Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Dr. Yatimah Alias.
The visit centred on strategic discussions in research, academic collaboration, and capacity development, in line with UMPSA’s aspiration to emerge as a globally recognised technical university by 2050 and the ASEAN Advanced TVET Hub by 2030.
The delegation included Nur Ezzati Mohd Nasir from UMPSA Global, together with three UMPSA staff who underwent a one-week staff training programme at Manchester Met, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Management, Dr. Mohd Hanafiah Ahmad, Senior Engineer, Centre for Property Development and Management, Ir. Mohd Azreen Yaacob and Director, Centre for Digital Technology, Ts. Mohd Rashid Abu Bakar.
This staff training programme is one of UMPSA’s latest initiatives to support Transformation Agenda 1 of the UMPSA Vice-Chancellor’s 2025 Address, which emphasises strengthening and advancing individual potential.

UMPSA and IMI strengthen collaboration to enhance global-standard automotive education and certification

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) continues to advance its efforts in strengthening global collaboration networks by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), United Kingdom.
IMI is a professional automotive body with over 100 years of history, responsible for setting skill standards, professional accreditation, and workforce capacity development in the global automotive industry.
The ceremony witnessed UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Yatimah Alias, and IMI Chief Executive Officer, Nick Connor, signing the MoU at the IMI Headquarters, Fanshaws, Brickendon, Hertfordshire.
