UMP, HKA establish international collaboration in Dual Degree in Electrical Engineering (Electronics)
GERMANY, 31 May 2022 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) signed a partnership with Hochshcule Karlsruhe (HKA) Germany to carry out the UMP-HKA Dual Degree in Electrical Engineering (Electronics) programme.
The Dual Degree in Electrical Engineering (Electronics) programme is the third dual degree programme with HKA after a successful 12 years of collaboration in mechatronics and automotive engineering programmes.
This collaboration will benefit from sharing expertise in education, research, staff and student exchanges, and industrial training.
The event saw the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (FTKEE), Associate Professor Dr. Hamdan Daniyal sign an agreement with HKA President, Professor Dr.-Ing. Frank Artinger in conjunction with the UMP delegation’s working visit to Germany.
Also present were the Chairman of the UMP Board of Directors, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman and Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Industrial and Community Collaboration Division, Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Nurul Hazlina Nordin.
According to Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz, the visit also benchmarked the academic curriculum of the existing programmes in line with the latest technology in Germany.
“This includes UMP’s efforts towards digital transformation and green sustainability, especially at both UMP campuses and generally within the state of Pahang,” he said.
In the meantime, UMP is also focusing on the agenda of sustainable development goals (SDG) towards campus sustainability and digitalisation in line with future development.
Also present were the Director of the Centre for Academic Strategic Cooperation, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Ruzaimi Mat Rejab, Director of the Career Placement & Development Centre, Associate Professor Dr. Saiful Anwar Che Ghani and Executive, Research and Innovation Department, Hardyana Mohd Saman.
Meanwhile, HKA was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Professor Dr.-Ing. Manfred Strohrmann, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, Professor Dr.-Ing. Robert Weiß, Professor Dr.-Ing. Philipp Nenninger and Professor Dr.-Ing. Maurice Kettner.
