4 students with disabilities choose UMPSA for its inclusive education facilities
PEKAN, 19 July 2026 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive access to higher education by welcoming four students with disabilities to its diploma programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Aged between 17 and 18, the four students chose UMPSA as the place to pursue their ambitions in their preferred fields.
They include Ahmad Muhammad 'Ainuddin, 18, from Selangor, and Nur Ariffah Sabella Muhammad Arif Makandal, 18, from the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, who have enrolled in the Diploma in Computer Science programme at UMPSA Pekan's Faculty of Computing (FK).
Also enrolling are Muhamad Muadz Firdaus Muhamad Raifuedin, 18, from Terengganu, and Muhammad Amin Al Hadi Hanafi, 17, from Kedah. Both will pursue the Diploma in Industrial Science programme at the Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology (FSTI), UMPSA Paya Besar.
Their decision reflects public confidence in UMPSA's continuing efforts to provide a supportive, accessible learning environment in which students with disabilities can develop holistically.
Ahmad Muhammad's mother, Noorihan Abdul Ajis, said the family chose UMPSA after seeing the university's commitment to facilities and support for students with disabilities through its Centre for Inclusive Technology and Ecosystem.

She said these provisions reassured parents that their children would receive appropriate care and support throughout their studies.
"I chose UMPSA because I was impressed by the facilities and services provided by its Centre for Inclusive Technology and Ecosystem, which consistently supports students with disabilities such as my son.
"As a mother, I feel more confident sending my son here because the university provides an inclusive environment and is attentive to the needs of students requiring additional support.
"I hope Ahmad Muhammad will continue to excel in his studies and make full use of the opportunities offered by UMPSA," she said.
UMPSA Vice-Chancellor Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah Alias said the university remained committed to ensuring that no one was excluded from access to high-quality higher education.
"UMPSA believes that every individual has the potential to succeed.
"The university will therefore continue to strengthen its inclusive learning ecosystem and support students with disabilities so that they can develop, become independent and excel in their chosen fields," she said.
She also welcomed all new students and encouraged them to use their university experience to build a brighter future.
Through its Centre for Inclusive Technology and Ecosystem, UMPSA continues to prioritise the welfare, accessibility and development of students with additional needs. These efforts support the university's aspiration to produce competent, competitive graduates who can contribute to national development.
The enrolment of four students with disabilities demonstrates UMPSA's continuing commitment to inclusive education and to ensuring access to higher education regardless of background or disability.
