KUALA LUMPUR, 15 February 2026 – A total of seven alumni of Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa (YSS) from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) have brought honour to the university after being officially appointed as National Unity Agents in the Volunteer Leadership Development Programme (VLDP) organised by Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa.

This prestigious programme brought together student volunteers and alumni from across the country to strengthen leadership and reinforce the spirit of volunteerism among youths.

The seven UMPSA alumni who received the appointment certificates are Ahmad Amirul Irfan Ahmad Saupi, Arvind Pathmanathan, Dayang Nurshamin Natasya Abang Noorisham, Muhammad Fauzi Hakimi Mazlan, Ahmad Mu’az Aiman Abdul Halim, Nur Fathin Eyanie Mohamad Kasli, and Muhammad Fazleizam Mohd Khairudin.

Through this appointment, all UMPSA representatives concerned have been entrusted with significant responsibilities under the initiative of the Ministry of National Unity.

They now serve as key drivers at the grassroots level in efforts to instil, nurture, and strengthen the spirit of national integration among Malaysia’s multicultural society.

This role is seen as significant in empowering the values of unity, in line with the nation’s aspiration to build a harmonious and inclusive society.

At the same time, the excellence of UMPSA’s representatives in the programme continued to shine when two of them successfully received major awards.

This recognition was given for their contributions, leadership capabilities, and extraordinary dedication demonstrated throughout the implementation of the YSS Mission for 2025.

Ahmad Amirul Irfan Ahmad Saupi was named the recipient of the Best Core Award: This Is Our Heritage, while Ahmad Mu’az Aiman bin Abdul Halim received the Best Core Award: Digital Transformation.

Both awards reflect their capability in driving high-impact initiatives that benefit society while supporting the national development agenda.

According to Ahmad Amirul Irfan, the recognition is a meaningful appreciation that will serve as a catalyst for him to continue being active in volunteer activities and to strengthen efforts in fostering unity within society.

“The experience with YSS has been an important platform in shaping identity, leadership, and sensitivity towards community needs.

“This achievement also reflects UMPSA’s continued commitment to producing graduates who are holistic and balanced in terms of academics, leadership, and humanitarian values.

“The diversity of backgrounds among the alumni involved also proves that UMPSA students are not only excellent in their respective fields of study, but also possess a high spirit of empathy and volunteerism in contributing to community well-being,” he said.

This success is hoped to serve as an inspiration to the entire university community to remain active in volunteer activities and community development.

In line with the principle of ‘Unity Through Volunteerism’, youth involvement in such initiatives is seen as capable of strengthening identity and fostering the spirit of togetherness for the prosperity of the nation.
