Prihatin Business Registration Scheme (SPPP) benefits UMP students
KUANTAN, 16 March 2022 - The Prihatin Business Registration Scheme (SPPP) launched on 15 February 2021 is now being extended to B40 group entrepreneurs and students of Public/Private Institutions of Higher Learning (IPTA/S).
Those who wish to register a business with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) under the Registration of Businesses Act 1956 will be exempted from registration fees and business information.
According to Tuan Kamarudin Mohd Daud, Director of the Companies Commission of Malaysia, this initiative is one of the economic recovery plans to help ease the burden of the people and the business sector, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs) affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and facilitate the affected people to venture into business.
“It will be a platform for students who are interested in starting a business to register their business legally and professionally to convince customers,” he said during a webinar forum organised by the Centre for Creative Entrepreneur Development (PUPUK), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) of Pahang.
In addition, this kind of collaboration between the two parties involved knowledge-sharing programmes for the students.
Meanwhile, the Director of PUPUK, Dr. Nizar Mhd Razali advised students to seize the opportunity in SPPP offered to IPT students for free for a year.
According to him, the forum also provided awareness to students on the role of SSM and the importance of registering their business.
“SSM also held an opening session of business registration counters at UMP Pekan and Gambang on 23 March 2022,” he said.
The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) is a statutory body formed under the Act of Parliament that regulates corporate and business affairs in Malaysia.
