UMPSA expands global footprint through student mobility to Kazakhstan
GAMBANG, 30 May 2025 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) continues to advance its Internationalisation Agenda through the Non-Credit International Mobility (Outbound) Programme with the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU), Kazakhstan.
A special farewell ceremony was held today at UMPSA to honour five students who will be participating physically in Kazakhstan, while another seven will join the same programme virtually.
The initiative was organised by the Faculty of Industrial Science and Technology (FSTI) in collaboration with the Centre for International Relations (CIR) and the Centre for International Student and Mobility.
The ceremony was officiated by the Assistant Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic and International Affairs (Internationalisation), Professor Datin Ts. Dr. Mimi Sakinah Abdul Munaim, who highlighted the programme as a vital platform to nurture competitive, globally minded students.
According to Professor Datin Ts. Dr. Mimi Sakinah, such programmes not only provide students with academic knowledge and cultural insights, but also contribute to the development of global-ready graduates and enhance the international standing of UMPSA alumni.
“I hope these selected students will serve as ambassadors for both the country and the university.
Gather as much knowledge and experience as possible and return with values that can be shared with your peers here,” she expressed during her opening remarks.
Also in attendance were the Director of the Centre for International Relations (CIR), Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Herma Dina Setiabudi, and the Director of the Centre for International Student and Mobility, Noor Syahidah Sabran.
This initiative reflects UMPSA’s steadfast commitment to providing its students with international exposure while strengthening the university’s global strategic partnerships.
