UMP first time listed in world rating THE WUR 2023For the first time Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) is ranked 801 to 1,000 for the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) rating announced today. More proudly, UMP ranks eighth out of 22 Higher Education Institutions (IPTs) in Malaysia and is the best university in the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN). This achievement is based on five key indications, namely Teaching, Research, Citation, Income from Industry and International Surveys. This edition has listed 1,799 universities from all over the world. UMP is also ranked 635 for International Survey Indicators evaluated based on three aspects, namely International Students, International Staff and International Collaboration. 22 UMP researchers listed 2% world’s top scientists for two achievement categories
A total of 22 researchers from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) are listed as 2 per cent of the world’s top scientists for two achievement categories. Of these, seven were listed in the Career-Long Achievement category and 21 in the Single Year Achievement category. The researchers listed in both achievements are Dr. Sudhakar Kumarasamy from the Faculty of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Technology (FTKMA), Professor Dr. Jayarama Reddy Venugopal, Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology (FSTI), Professor Dr. Jose Rajan (FSTI), Professor Dr. Rizalman Mamat (FTKMA), Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Kumaran s/o Kadirgama (FTKMA), and Professor Ts. Dr. Kamal Zuhairi Zamli, Faculty of Computing (FK), who is also the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation). Meanwhile, Associate Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohd Ashraf Ahmad from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology (FTKEE) is listed in the Career-Long Achievement category. This recognition is based on the data released by Elsevier BV, Stanford University based in the United States of America. Collaboration between DVS and UMP on blockchain system for swiftlet bird nest industry launched
The Department of Veterinary Services (DVS), Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFI) in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) launched the blockchain system project for the swiftlet bird nest industry which uses blockchain technology to ensure the security of information and smooth registration process. The launching ceremony was graced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Datuk Seri Dr. Ronald Kiandee, which was also attended by the Director General of the Department of Veterinary Services, Dr. Akmal Ngah Hamid and the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin. The launch of the MyWalet system was held in conjunction with the Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2022 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) recently. |
