QS WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS REGIONAL 2023
Universiti Malaysia Pahang is ranked 132 in Asia and 25 in Southeast Asia based on the QS World University Rankings Asia 2023. As for the 2023 edition, Universiti Malaysia Pahang ranks among the top 18% in Asia, as released by Quacquarelli Symonds Limited, based in London. A total of 760 universities in Asia were ranked for this year’s edition, with 34 new entries from various universities around Asia. This excellence has placed Universiti Malaysia Pahang at the top of the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN). Among the measurement indicator, Staff with PhD is the strength of Universiti Malaysia Pahang, ranked 61 in Asia. Previously, Universiti Malaysia Pahang also managed to maintain the position at 801-1000 in the QS World University Rankings 2023. Despite being in the same position, the Universiti Malaysia Pahang score increased compared to the previous year. In the 2023 edition, Universiti Malaysia Pahang is among the top 57% in the world, released by the London-based Quacquarelli Symonds Limited. Among the measurement indicators, International Faculty is the strength of Universiti Malaysia Pahang, with a ranking of 478 in the world, besides Citation per Faculty at 503. Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Huawei Services (Hong Kong) Co. Limited, which recently took place at Huawei Technologies, Intermark Kuala Lumpur. The MoU is the outcome of academic collaboration to develop training programmes, webinars, workshops, Hackaton, Huawei Developer Group and sharing expertise for mutual benefit. The ceremony saw the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin and Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) Technical Director, Asia Africa and Latin America, Charles Li Guo Liang exchange MoU documents. Also in attendance were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rosli Hainin, Dean of the Faculty of Computing (FK), Associate Professor Ts. Dr Adzhar Kamaludin and Talent Ecosystem Manager, Malaysia Enterprise Partner Development Department, Malaysia, Astee Chan Poh Ting. Also present were Senior Engineer, HMS Development Team, Mr. Tan Wei Cong and the Human Resources Specialist of the Human Resources Development Department of APAC, Ho Jia Yun. According to Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, UMP and Huawei Services (Hong Kong) Co., Limited will work together to form a technology skills programme that can improve competent abilities, digital expertise and skills in addition to developing graduate capacities through exposure to the real needs of the industry. UMP, Ulm University of Applied Sciences collaborate on German Model campus sustainability programme
Networking collaboration for campus sustainability between Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and Ulm University of Applied Sciences (THU), Germany will develop a campus sustainability model with a German Engineering education that is based on the Fachhochschule in the national higher education system. The collaboration involves exchanging information and knowledge, academic research, and sharing best practices, especially in benchmarking high-level TVET based on the Ulmer Model approach implemented at THU. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was witnessed by the Consul General of Malaysia in Frankfurt, Farzamie Sarkawi, took place at the Consulate General of Malaysia in Frankfurt. At the event, UMP was represented by its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin and the Dean of the Department of Mathematics and Economic Sciences, Professor Dr. Marc-Oliver Otto representing THU. Also present was the Senior Dean, College of Engineering Technology UMP, Professor Dr. Abdullah Ibrahim and the Head of the International Energy Competence Network (IECN), Professor Dr. Walter Georg Commerell. |
