Free scholarships for TVET students to continue studies in China

MELAKA, 16 January 2024 - Malaysia-China collaboration within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative benefits students when the Chinese government offers free scholarships to 1,000 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students in the country to take courses there.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the opportunity involved various courses, especially automotive, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and new high-tech fields such as electric vehicles.

PEKAN, 11 January 2024 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) and Grab Malaysia strengthened their cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to provide access to education and training aimed at improving the academic qualifications and competence of gig workers.

This collaboration is a proactive step by UMPSA to support and enhance the capabilities of gig workers, aligning with the evolving job landscape, which is increasingly changing and challenging.

PEKAN, 18 January 2024 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has bolstered bilateral relations and strategic academic and research collaboration with Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT), Japan, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The MoU was signed by UMPSA Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, and the President of SIT, Professor Dr. Jun Yamada, in a hybrid ceremony held at both UMPSA and SIT locations at 11:30 am (local time) and 12:30 pm (Japan time).

27 UMPSA student leaders promise to shoulder responsibilities

KUANTAN, 11 January 2023 - A total of 27 students pledged and signed the oath of the Students’ Representative Council (MPP) of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Session 2023/2024 before the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin at the ceremony held at Swiss-Belhotel Kuantan.

This programme was also joined by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed and the top management of UMPSA.

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 December 2023 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) achieved success through cross-border collaboration in scholarly publishing, resulting in the recognition of the book titled 'Rukun Negara dan Pancasila: Ideologi dan Amalan' (the Malaysian National Principles [Rukun Negara] and the Indonesian Five Principles [Pancasila]: Ideology and Principles) as the recipient of the 2023 National Book Award for the Best General Book Industry Category (National).

Dapur Kita Project: Students Helping Students

PEKAN, 13 January 2024 –  A total of 300 pieces of roti canai and 600 pieces of pancakes were successfully distributed to students of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) through the Dapur Kita (Our Kitchen) initiative with the 'Students Helping Students' approach.

The food distribution took place at the Pekan Student Activity Centre and at Student Resident Cafe 4 and Payung Putih for students at the Gambang campus.

Corruption Chronicles: A Mock Trial Approach in KIAR to Corporate Liability

Approximately 1,400 students took KIAR course in Semester I 2023/2024, ranging from Bachelor’s degree students to Diploma students. Each had to undergo a mock trial assessment as part of their assessment of corruption and abuse of power in the workplace and daily activities. Professionals from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and Integrity and Compliance Unit, UMPSA, evaluted the students’ depth of understanding of Section 17A liability corporations during the two-week assessment period.
