2 best friends realise dream of studying together at UMPSA

PAYA BESAR, 19 July 2026 - A friendship formed at school has brought good fortune to two best friends from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Taman Selayang in Batu Caves, after both secured places at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Muhammad Fakrul Razif Rafizal and Syarif Syahiran Iddy Ismail have both enrolled in the Diploma in Industrial Science programme at UMPSA's Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology (FSTI).

The pair expressed their gratitude at being able to fulfil their dream of studying at the same university after completing their secondary education at SMK Taman Selayang.

Muhammad Fakrul Razif said that studying alongside a friend he had known since school gave them fresh encouragement to support and motivate each other throughout university life.

Syarif Syahiran, meanwhile, said they hoped to settle into campus life and make the most of the opportunities offered by UMPSA to develop their potential, both academically and through co-curricular activities.

Both are determined to excel in their studies and, in time, bring pride to their families, school and university.
