UMPSA and Pahang State Forestry Department plant 67 symbolic trees for Malaysia's 67th Independence
GAMBANG, 30 August 2024 – A total of 100 volunteers from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), along with staff from the Pahang State Forestry Department and UMPSA Holdings Sdn. Bhd., continued the mission of planting 67 trees in conjunction with RTM's Malaysian Aspirations Tour Programme and UMPSA's 2024 Independence Threshold Celebration at UMPSA Gambang Campus recently.
The 67 trees symbolize Malaysia's 67th year of independence. Among the species planted were Buchida, Kelat Jambu Laut, Merawan Penak, and Hujan-hujan trees.
The programme was led by the Chairman of the UMPSA Principals' Council, Nasrul Salim Pakheri.
Also present was Mohd Hairuddin Idris, Project Manager of UMPSA Holdings Sdn. Bhd.
According to Nasrul Salim Pakheri, this programme is highly significant, especially in achieving the goal of environmental conservation through tree-planting activities.
“In addition, this programme helps raise awareness among all parties about the importance of green spaces for well-being and quality of life.
“In fact, organizing such activities aligns with sustainable practices for the well-being and prosperity of campus residents,” he said.
