100 volunteers from UMPSA, TMB, SWCorp, and Alam Flora clean Cherok Paloh Beach while plogging
KUANTAN, 23 August 2024 – A total of 100 participants, including staff and students from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Tanah Makmur Berhad (TMB), SWCorp Pahang Branch, and Alam Flora, participated in the UMPSA x TMB Plogging Programme held recently at Pantai Cherok Paloh, Kuantan.
According to Director of the UMPSA Sustainability Development Centre, Dr. Suhaidah Hussain, beach cleanliness is a shared responsibility.
“As a responsible society, we must educate the younger generation to maintain beach cleanliness, ensuring a conducive environment for the local community.
“This activity is aimed at fostering a healthy lifestyle among the people of UMPSA, TMB, and SWCorp, while also instilling love for the environment and a sense of responsibility towards nature.
"Through this programme, we are able to contribute to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals),” she said.
The programme was also attended by Head of Kotasas Sdn. Bhd., Mohd Farizan Md Dalimi, General Manager of Human Resources at Tanah Makmur Berhad, Muhamad Adlan Ma'arup, Senior Manager of Governance and Sustainability, Isrizal Israni and Deputy Director of SWCorp Pahang Branch, Hadijah Md Noh.
