1,576 new students register at UMPSA

GAMBANG, 29 September 2024 – A total of 1,576 new students have registered for the latest intake at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA).

Of these, 978 students will be pursuing their studies at the Gambang campus, while the remaining 598 will be studying at the Pekan campus.

The registration took place simultaneously at different locations: the Student Activity Centre (PAP) Square for students at UMPSA Pekan, and Residential Colleges 3 and 4 for those at the Gambang campus.

The registration process, which began at 8:30 a.m., proceeded smoothly with excellent cooperation from all students, parents, and staff involved.

UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, took the opportunity to meet with the new students during registration.

Also present was Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed.

During the event, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie also visited the residential college facilities, including the gym and student kitchen areas, ensuring they were in good condition for the new arrivals.

He extended a warm welcome and congratulations to the new undergraduate students, who have chosen UMPSA as their destination for higher education for the 2024/2025 academic session.

"I hope that the students who have been selected to continue their studies at UMPSA will take on their responsibilities with enthusiasm and dedication," he said.

Among the 1,576 new students registering at the Gambang campus were identical twins from Miri, Sarawak, Gabriella Dorrie anak Guri and her sister Gabriellyn Norwie, aged 19.

They were both thrilled to be accepted into the Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours programme at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences.

Gabriella Dorrie expressed her gratitude, saying that she and her sister felt fortunate that their dream of studying at UMPSA had come true, despite the distance from their family.

“Having the opportunity to pursue a degree in our chosen field is no obstacle, and we are determined to continue our studies and achieve our goal of becoming computer experts one day,” she said.
