200 UMP associates join Khatam al-Quran and World #QuranHour
KUANTAN, April 13, 2023 - A total of 150 Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) staff and students participated in the Khatam al-Quran and World #QuranHour Ceremony in a programme that took place at the UMP Mosque, Gambang Campus.
The programme, which began at 8:30 am, was preceded by the Khatam al-Quran event led by UMP Islamic Affairs Officer Ustaz Md Abdu Sahak, who is also the Chairman of Rumah Ngaji Pahang.
The ceremony continued with the reflection (tadabbur) of the surah al-Insan delivered by the Islamic Affairs Officer, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Shah Alam, Ustaz Mohd Faizan Tajuid.
While the ceremony was officiated by the Director of the Institute of Civilisation and Strategic Studies (ITKAS), Associate Professor Dr. Hasan Ahmad.
In his speech, he called on UMP residents to intensify worship on the last 10 nights, which left only a few days.
“We have entered the last phase of Ramadan or better known as the last 10 nights, so take the opportunity to earnestly pursue the great rewards given by Allah SWT to the ummah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
“The miracle of Ramadan is not in any other month.
“This blessed month is not only about refraining from hunger, guarding your eyes, ears and other senses but also educating your soul to fear Allah SWT,” he said.
In addition, during this month of Ramadan, the Islamic and Human Development Centre (PIMPIN) has organised various programmes throughout the Beauty of Ramadan Festival including the Jom Lepak@Masjid Special Edition programme which was organised to observe the last 10 nights with qiamullail and tahajud prayer.
Also present were the Director of PIMPIN, Associate Professor Dr. Rashidi Abbas, Dean of the Centre for Human Sciences (PSK), Dr. Mohamad Hilmi Mat Said and Dean of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), Professor Dr. Mohd Zuki Salleh.
World #QuranHour 1444H interacted with surah al-Insan which targeted the mission of Get Into Heaven the Whole Family and producing righteous (al-abrar) people.
This year’s World Quran Hour 2023 is an effort to encourage people to interact with the Quran to always read, understand and practice it.
