Dato’ Hajah Habibah new member of UMP Board of Directors

Pekan, 6 July 2020 - Dato’ Hajah Habibah Mohd Yusof was appointed as a new board member effective 1 May 2020 until 30 April 2023.

Representing the private sector, she currently serves as the Managing Director of Global Phenomel Sdn. Bhd.

Dato’ Hajah Habibah also has extensive experience as a Liaison Officer to the Minister of Works (2014), Special Functions Officer (Parliament) to the Minister of Agriculture (2014), Private Secretary to the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (2008–2009), and Special Functions Officer to the Minister of Education and Minister of Home Affairs (2004–2008).

She had also served in the Prime Minister’s Department (2001–2002), Community Development Department (KEMAS), Selangor (1993-1998) and RISDA Smallholders Cooperative, Pekan, Pahang (1990–1992).

She is a native of Pekan, Pahang and holds a degree in Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

This appointment is to strengthen professional leadership in the pursuit of making UMP a reputable university for its achievement and good governance.

According to the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ir. Dr. Wan Azhar Wan Yusoff, UMP welcomes the appointment and hopes to continue to lead the university towards excellence together with the Board of Directors under the leadership of Dato’ Sri Ibrahim Ahmad.

“Congratulations on this appointment and Dato’ Hajah Habibah’s leadership, capability, expertise and illustrious experience will drive UMP towards excellence and achieve the ultimate achievement,” he said.

This appointment also brings a total of 11 members of the UMP Board of Directors.
