Over 300 UMPSA students and staff celebrate the arrival of Kembara Sultan Pahang 1.0

PEKAN, 23 April 2025 – More than 300 students and staff of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) gathered to enliven the Kembara Sultan Pahang 1.0 Convoy Celebration as it passed through the UMPSA campus recently.

The arrival of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Her Royal Highness Tengku Ampuan Pahang, and His Highness the Crown Prince of Pahang, along with the royal entourage, was in conjunction with the Closing Ceremony of Kembara Sultan Pahang 1.0, which involved the districts of Temerloh, Maran, Bera, and Pekan.

UMPSA was one of the final stopover locations for the convoy before the Closing Ceremony held at Pantai Lagenda, Pekan.

Professor Ts. Dr. Aida Mustapha, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), who was performing the duties of the Vice-Chancellor, along with Professor Dato’ Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), were also in attendance to welcome the Royal Family and to participate in the Closing Ceremony held at Pantai Lagenda.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Development), Professor Ts. Dr. Kamal Zuhairi Zamli, together with UMPSA staff, waited in readiness to greet the convoy’s passage in front of the UMPSA main entrance.

A total of 50 students from the UMPSA Uniformed Bodies also participated in enlivening the event to show their loyalty and respect in welcoming the Royal Arrival at Pantai Lagenda, Pekan.

According to Nur Hidayatul Adawiyah Zakaria, a student from the Faculty of Computing (FK), originally from Sarawak, she was ecstatic to meet His Royal Highness, the Sultan of Pahang, once again.

“I am very moved because I never thought I would have the chance to meet His Royal Highness, the Sultan of Pahang, again after first meeting His Majesty in Sarawak.

“The Kembara Sultan Pahang 1.0 programme is very meaningful because it strengthens the bond between the Ruler and the people.

“The people truly appreciate His Majesty’s willingness to graciously visit rural areas that are rarely visited,” she proudly expressed.
