Rimau Virtual Challenge Charity Programme raises money for Endowment Fund
PEKAN, 22 August 2021 - Yayasan UMP organised the Rimau Virtual Challenge 2021 Charity Programme to raise money for the Mawaddah Residential College Endowment Fund and the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) endowment.
According to the Chief Executive of Yayasan UMP, Mohd Jamil Mohd Jaafar, Yayasan UMP always strives to find funds for Yayasan UMP, including for Mawaddah Residential College Endowment Fund and distributed to those in need.
He added that the fundraising is also focused on the construction of Mawaddah Residential College that will accommodate 220 zakat beneficiaries (asnaf) and poor students in UMP.
“It is developed on a 2.0 acre plot of land at UMP Kampus Pekan with a construction cost of RM5 million and is expected to be completed in January 2022.
“Until now, the total fund accumulated is RM1,544,156.00 and UMP still needs RM3.45 million for this project.
“The university management would like to thank the contributors who have donated for the construction of this Mawaddah Residential College,” he said.
In conjunction with the month of independence, he added that the Rimau Virtual Challenge 2021 Charity Programme is one of the programmes to raise funds and cultivate a healthy lifestyle.
“Even though we are in a COVID-19 pandemic situation, exercise is one of the activities that can maintain an individual’s health.
“This challenge is very easy. Participants only need to do exercises such as walking, jogging, running, or cycling.
“The registration for this challenge starts on 15 July 2021 until 29 August 2021,” he said.
He added that the activities will start on 30 August 2021 to 30 September 2021 with a distance of 30 km.
“This programme is open to all Malaysians and each entry will be charged RM60.00 while RM10.00 for posting.
“More interestingly, each participant will receive a medal and a shirt as a souvenir.
