UMP associates need to emulate leadership of Prophet Muhammad SAW in management of organisation

PEKAN, 11 November 2022 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) associates are called to emulate the leadership and personality of Rasulullah SAW in the management of organisations and families.

A religious figure who is no stranger to the world of dakwah in Malaysia, Dato’ Badli Shah Alauddin called on in UMP level Maulidur Rasul Celebration 1444H/2022M recently to make the greatness and moral height of the Prophet as a guide in the context of organisational management and changing the nation.

He, who is also Imam Besar of Masjid Negeri Sultan Ahmad 1 Kuantan said that we may have millions of references, experts or leaders as idols but we would not be able to match the superiority of the personality of the Prophet SAW in the whole universe.

“As a good leader, you need to avoid arrogance.

“We were born on the earth created by Allah SWT to be a vicegerent who is a leader not only when appointed but also a leader for himself, his family, his community and his country.

“Therefore, we must know and have the characteristics of a good and credible leader,” he said, who was present to deliver a lecture in front of more than 500 UMP staff with the title Keluarga Malaysia Pemangkin Kemakmuran (Malaysian Family, Catalyst for Prosperity).

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Ts. Dr. Kamal Zuhairi Zamli said, as the ummah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, we should remember the struggle of the Prophet in spreading Islam to all the worlds.

“The results of the struggle accompanied by the sacrifice of the companions enable us to achieve the blessings of faith and Islam today.

“The celebration of Maulidur Rasul should be seen as more than just an annual ceremony.

“This gathering is a manifestation of our love for the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

“Based on Keluarga Malaysia concept, the country will be driven to emerge from the health and economic crisis and in turn ensure the well-being of every people in this country,” he said when officiating the UMP level Maulidur Rasul Celebration 1444H/2022M.

He also led the parade which started at 8.30 am from the Student Activity Centre Square (PAP) heading to the UMP Pekan Multipurpose Hall stretching two kilometres while reciting selawat for the Prophet Muhammad.

A total of 28 contingents representing departments and faculties including from UMP subsidiaries UMP Holdings and UMP Advanced participated in this colourful parade.

Also present were the Registrar/Chief Operating Officer, Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim, Chief Librarian, Azman Abdul Rahim, Legal Advisor, Marlina Mamat and Director of the Islamic and Human Development Centre (PIMPIN), Associate Professor Dr. Rashidi Abbas.

The programme saw the parade competition won by the Bursary Department, while the second and third places were won by the Registry Department and Library, respectively.
