UMP celebrates 2022 Convocation Ceremony crews
GAMBANG, 23 March 2023 - The COVID-19 pandemic that hit the world in early 2020 had quite an impact on the country’s higher education.
Organising three Convocation Ceremonies (MKK), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) in 2022 following the pandemic starting in 2020 made history when 12,124 UMP graduands were celebrated within a year due to no convocation ceremony in 2020 and 2021.
At that time, graduands for 2020 and 2021 only received Award Documents via postage.
However, in 2022, UMP celebrated 3,556 2020 graduands on 17-20 March 2022 with SOP compliance in MKK15 held at Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Kuantan.
For MKK16, UMP celebrated 4,034 graduands for 2021 on 6-9 August 2022 at the UMP Gambang Sports Complex.
Meanwhile, for MKK17, UMP celebrated 4,534 graduands for 2022 which was held on 5-8 November 2022 at the UMP Gambang Sports Complex.
According to the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, various factors were considered and the decision was fine-tuned by the committee to ensure the safety and health of university associates.
“The management greatly appreciates the frontliners, officers and committee members consisting of 644 people representing 23 committees as well as the UMP Convocation Secretariat who work hard to ensure that the ceremony runs smoothly.
“The university is very proud of the commitment of the crews in ensuring that everything is planned and implemented properly and complies with standard operating procedures (SOP) set,” he said.
Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie was present to officiate the Convocation Crews Appreciation Ceremony at the UMP Astaka Hall, Gambang Campus.
Also present were the Registrar, Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim and Director of the Centre for Academic Management, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Shahrir Mohd Sani and the management and officers of the university.
