UMPSA hosts MoonsooSIM Enterprise Resource Management Competition (MERMC) 2023

GAMBANG, 23 September 2023 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) is hosting, for the first time, the MoonsooSIM Enterprise Resource Management Competition (MERMC) 2023 Final Malaysia, organized by Infusion Information Technology Sdn. Bhd. in collaboration with the Faculty of Industrial Management (FIM).

This virtual learning-based competition aims to revolutionize learning through gamification, involving participants from various public higher education institutions (IPTA) and private higher education institution (IPTS) students in exploring more than 200 interactive and enjoyable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) concepts. Furthermore, the simulation is designed to provide participants with a dynamic business world experience.

The opening speech was delivered virtually by UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ts. Dato’ Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, in the Astaka Hall at UMPSA Gambang Campus.

According to Professor Ts. Dato’ Dr. Yuserrie, competitions like these provide new opportunities and exposure to participants, enabling them to enhance their critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork skills.

The competition saw 12 teams from six IPTA/IPTS selected to compete in the Malaysian finals, with each team consisting of four to five participants.

The victory went to the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman team known as Syncs (UTAR), followed by the Lost In Unknown team (UTAR) and APU Team 1 (APU).

Meanwhile, two UMPSA teams, MVP and SS Enterprise, secured the 4th and 5th positions, qualifying them to compete in the international finals to be held at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) from October 25 to 29, 2023.
