UMPSA strengthens ties with industry and agencies
SHAH ALAM, 18 January 2024 – The organisation of the Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Friendly Programme with Industry and Agencies has further strengthened friendships and enhanced closer networking between the university and industry.
According to the UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Yatimah Alias, organising such programmes is another significant synergy in expanding UMPSA’s strategic network with industry.
“As one of the technical universities under the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN), UMPSA is always committed to building meaningful collaborations with the industry in efforts to produce competent graduates who are resilient to challenges and meet current industry demands,” she said.
She attended the event to celebrate collaboration partners during the Friendship Golf Sports Tournament at Glenmarie Golf & Country, Shah Alam, organised by the Centre for Industry and Community Network (PJIM) today.
She also expressed confidence that this meeting allows the university to build relationships, share updates, and showcase the university’s achievements.
She mentioned that collaboration can also be fostered through work-based learning (WBL), a learning method to ensure students master work-based learning content.
“Additionally, collaborations can include industrial matching grants, job opportunities for UMPSA graduates, and placement opportunities for staff and students to undergo industrial training.
“Industries can also collaborate in UMPSA’s seven key focus areas: energy sustainability, material science, management & social science, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, vehicular technology, and fine & specialty chemicals.
“UMPSA will also organise more programmes with collaboration partners in the future,” she stated.
Also present were UMPSA Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Dato Sri (Dr) Abi Musa Asa’ari Mohamed Nor, and the Chairman of the UMPSA Board of Directors, Dato’ Seri Abdul Razak Jaafar.
In attendance were members of the Yayasan UMPSA Board of Trustees, Dato’ Ir. Ts. Izwan Hasli Mohd Ibrahim, Dato’ Sri Ahmad Fuaad Kenali, and the Chief Executive Officer of MRL, Datuk Seri Darwis Abdul Razak.
The programme was also attended by industry representatives from B-Crobes Group of Companies, Petro Safety Training and Consultancy Sdn. Bhd., Sysbot Resources Sdn. Bhd., 3D Gens Sdn. Bhd., and other industries.
