UMPSA's IJAME Journal receives Scopus Journal CREME Award
PUTRAJAYA, 29 November 2024 – The International Journal of Automotive and Mechanical Engineering (IJAME), published by Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), has been honoured with the Scopus Journal CREME (Current Research Malaysia) Award.
The KPT-ELSEVIER Research Excellence Award 2024 ceremony was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Putrajaya. Organised by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) in collaboration with Elsevier—a Netherlands-based company known for its pivotal role in international research and publishing—the event recognises local researchers and journals for their contributions to knowledge, technology, and society.
The ceremony, part of the Putrajaya Ideas Festival (FOI) 2024, celebrated excellence in scholarly work.
The Minister of Higher Education, Yang Berhormat Dato' Seri Diraja Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, highlighted in his speech the importance of high-quality research in driving Malaysia’s transformation agenda.
“The Higher Education Development Plan 2026–2035, currently being drafted, will focus on emerging areas such as sustainable development goals (SDGs), planetary health, and artificial intelligence (AI),” he said.
Two main categories of awards were presented at the event: the Malaysia Scopus Research Excellence Awards and the Scopus Journal CREME Award.
UMPSA researcher and Editor-in-Chief of IJAME, Associate Professor Dr Mohd Fadzil Faisae Ab Rashid, accepted the Scopus Journal CREME Award on behalf of the journal.
This recognition underscores the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education to celebrate local researchers and journals that produce high-impact scholarly works referenced worldwide.
It also acknowledges Malaysian journals demonstrating outstanding performance in the international database Scopus.
