UMP’s academic strategic collaboration intensifies internationalisation initiatives
SAUDI ARABIA, 14 May 2022 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) is intensifying its academic and international strategic collaboration program in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia which has been established since 2008 to ensure continued cooperation.
The meeting of the UMP delegation led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd. Rosli Hainin with King Abdulaziz University (KAU), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia represented by the Director of the Curriculum Centre cum the consultant to the Deputy President of Educational Affairs, Dr. Marwan Mahmoud discussed the potential for collaboration between the two parties.
According to Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rosli, the meeting would take advantage of the opportunities for UMP’s diploma, undergraduate and master’s graduates to pursue their studies at KAU with full sponsorship as well as exploring potential collaborations for student and staff exchanges, joint research, international grants, matching grants and technical staff training.
“This session also discussed the proposal to send female lecturers to join the attachment programme at the Faculty of Engineering KAU.
“We discussed student mobility programmes, research programmes and co-publishing,” he said.
Also present were KAU’s Assistant Vice President of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Muhyaddin Rawa and Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Funding, Dr. Mohamed Abed.
Also present were the Director of the Centre for International Relations, Associate Professor Dr. Mohd. Azmir Mohd. Azhari and Senior Manager, Academic & International Affairs Department, Hazmin Aris.
At the same time, the delegation had the opportunity to meet with Babaker Trading & Contracting Company, which has endowed some of the company’s profits to sponsor Yemeni students to pursue their studies at universities in Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Malaysia specialising in engineering and medicine.
The discussion focused on improving the student sponsorship programme sponsored by the company to pursue higher education programmes at UMP.
