UMPSA academic Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Lee Chia Kuang appointed to prestigious PMI GAC International Accreditation Panel

KUALA LUMPUR, 16 April 2026 – Highlighting his expertise in the field of project management education, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Lee Chia Kuang of the Graduate Engineering and Technological Business School (GET-BS), Faculty of Industrial Management, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), has recently received a prestigious international appointment. 

He was selected by the PMI Global Accreditation Center (GAC) for Project Management Education Programs to serve as an on-site panellist for the accreditation review of the Master of Project Management programme at Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation.

The intensive site visit, which took place from 8 to 10 April 2026, required the visiting team to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of APU’s Graduate School of Technology. 

As an on-site panellist, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Lee played a crucial role in assessing various aspects of the institution, including its curriculum, faculty qualifications, facilities, and overall operations, to ensure alignment with rigorous global accreditation standards.

The PMI GAC for Project Management Education Programs is globally recognised as the leading specialised accrediting body for project management and related degree programmes. 

With project management increasingly acknowledged as a critical competency across modern industries, colleges and universities are rapidly developing programmes to equip students with specialised knowledge.

GAC accredits programmes worldwide at the bachelor’s, postgraduate, and doctoral levels within accredited higher education institutions. 

Securing and maintaining GAC accreditation demonstrates that a programme is relevant, student-focused, accountable, and meets comprehensive global standards of excellence, ultimately preparing graduates to meet the demands of today’s evolving market.

To conduct this thorough academic audit, the GAC assembled a distinguished visiting team comprising seasoned experts and academics, including Adjunct Lecturer at the ELM Graduate School, HELP University Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia, Poon Hin Fei, as team lead; Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Lee Chia Kuang; and Consultant and Advisor at Global Knowledge House Sdn. Bhd., Krishnan Srinivasan.

Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Lee Chia Kuang’s international appointment by the PMI GAC not only underscores his deep commitment to academic excellence but also highlights UMPSA’s continued impact in shaping global educational standards in project management.
