8 Felo Perdana UMP Protege appointed to serve with management
PEKAN, 5 October 2022 - A total of eight graduates of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) were selected in the Felo Perdana UMP Protege programme which will serve at UMP and be placed for six months to the university management including the Chairman of the UMP Board of Directors, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman.
They are Nur Ainaa Adhreena Muhamad Shukri placed in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor (PNC), Muhammad Aminuddin Rosnizan in the Registry Department and Nur Aliah Hani Saiful Amir in the Academic & International Affairs Department (JHEAA).
Muhammad Syamim Mazlan is placed in the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Muhammad Aizat Azed in the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni) and Muhammad Nur Aqmal Nazri in the Bursary Department.
Ainul Shuhada Mokhtar is placed at the Centre for Property Management & Development and Nurul Shuhada Haji Mohamed is placed at the Institute of Civilisation and Strategic Studies (ITKAS).
The opening ceremony and appointment presentation to the proteges was officiated by the Chairman of the UMP Board of Directors, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman at the Banquet Hall, Tun Abdul Razak Chancellery (CTAR) UMP Pekan.
Also present were the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yusserrie Zainuddin, Deputy Vice-Chancellors and top management of UMP.
Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman in his speech congratulated all those selected to participate in the programme.
“Make the best use of these six months; take this opportunity to gain experience in various fields during your stint at UMP,” he said.
At the same time, they will be involved in volunteering and community engagement programmes.
Although all these proteges are placed in several departments, monitoring will be held.
“I believe that if this opportunity is used wisely, the proteges will be more competitive and ready to pursue more challenging jobs,” he said.
He hoped that all proteges could learn from their respective mentors how to be a good administrator especially in meeting handling and problem solving.
Nurul Shuhada Haji Mohamed, 29, who graduated with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, did not expect and was grateful to be selected to participate in this programme.
“Through this programme, I gain added value and knowledge in management,” she said.
Meanwhile, his colleague, Muhammad Aizat Azed, 28, who graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, expressed his excitement to directly gain knowledge and learn about the university’s governance system with the university’s top management, especially when he is placed under the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed.
He said this was a good opportunity to get out of the norm and venture into different fields from his study.
UMP Protege is the first UMP programme organised to provide an opportunity for UMP alumni to gain experience working as a Professional Officer in UMP Management for six months.
The proteges will be exposed to various aspects of university leadership and get the opportunity to be part of the development process while honing their leadership skills at the university’s highest level.
