Andrew Lim Wei Chin named recipient of Excellence Award of UMPSA Holdings Sdn. Bhd.

GAMBANG, 21 October 2023 - His drive for excellence finally came to fruition when Andrew Lim Wei Chin, 24, was named the recipient of the UMPSA Holdings Excellence Award at the Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) 18th Convocation Ceremony.

Born in Miri, Sarawak, he is the son of Lim Fook Joo and Chuan Swee Yiaw.

He is the third of five children.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Science (Graphics and Multimedia Technology) with Honours, achieving a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.82.

The award is a recognition of his outstanding academic and co-curricular achievements.

He has also maintained his Dean’s List Award status for seven consecutive semesters.

Besides excelling in academics, Andrew Lim Wei Chin who is an exemplar in the campus community was also actively involved in various social activities.

He was active in co-curriculum throughout his study at UMPSA, and even held a position as the President of the My Career Roadmap Program: How Do I Get A Job in Computer Industry 2021 and the President for PMFiK Benchmark Visit (PETAKOM as Guest) 2021.

In addition, he also actively participated in research competitions including by participating in the Creation, Innovation, Technology and Research Exposition (CITREX).

In the competition, he won a gold medal along with Dr.  Nor Saradatul Akmar Zulkifli.

The principle of “You never know what’s coming next in your life, so always give your best effort in everything you do so you leave no regrets behind.  Who knows what you have done before leads you to success? Cheers!” makes him a hardworking, committed and dedicated person.

He said that as a student, having soft skills is important in both education and co-curriculum in order to become a graduate with extensive knowledge and excellent soft skills.

The UMPSA Holdings Excellence Award is a leading recognition at UMPSA and it inspires other students to continue striving for excellence in various aspects of university life.
