Overcoming loss, Muhammad Syafiq Aiman resolves to earn his degree

GAMBANG, 26 October 2024 – Never imagining that he would lose a significant figure in his life at the young age of 13, Muhammad Syafiq Aiman Suhirman resolved to change the course of his family’s life.

The fifth of eight siblings continued his studies at the Faculty of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Technology (FTKMA), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), while venturing into business.

He shared that he does not come from a privileged family.

“My siblings and my uncle have been the ones helping me all this while.

“From there, I realised that I needed to do something.

“In my third year of studies, I started to dabble in business by becoming an agent for selling UMPSA shirts,” he explained.

He added that anyone can strive to earn their own money and find ways to survive, even if they come from a disadvantaged background.

“Building on that, I began challenging myself by selling nasi ayam gepuk at the Amphitheatre, UMPSA Gambang Campus.

“I also received funding of RM3,000.00 from the Centre for Creative Entrepreneur Development.

“Even though I was busy managing my business, I was also actively involved in co-curricular activities,” added the graduate of the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours.

He was also a member of PEKA2 for the 2022/2023 session.

The Terengganu native expressed his gratitude as his business allowed him to cover his living expenses throughout his studies.

Muhammad Syafiq Aiman is now serving as a Protégé at Roadcare (M) Sdn. Bhd. starting 1 October 2024.

He also opened a booth at the UMPSA Convocation Expo.
