118 UMPSA ROTU Second Lieutenants commissioned in 43rd ROTU Commissioning Ceremony Year 2025
SERDANG, 13 September 2025 - A total of 118 UMPSA ROTU Second Lieutenants were commissioned during the 43rd Commissioning Ceremony Parade of the Army, Navy, and Air Force Reserve Officers Training Unit (ROTU) Year 2025, which took place at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang.
They consisted of 32 Army ROTU, 32 Navy ROTU, and 54 Air Force ROTU, and were part of 1,972 Reserve Officers Training Unit (ROTU) cadet officers from 20 public universities (UA) nationwide who were commissioned at the 43rd Royal Commissioning Ceremony of the Reserve Officers Training Unit (ROTU) Public Universities today.
The ceremony also witnessed recognition given to the best cadet officers by category, namely the Best Army ROTU Cadet Officer awarded to Wan Muhammad Hilmi Wan Ismail, the Best Navy ROTU Cadet Officer awarded to Mohamad Azrol Aziman Azizon, and the Best Air Force ROTU Cadet Officer awarded to Muhammad Aqid Danish Nor Rizani.

The organisation of this ceremony symbolised recognition of the efforts, commitment, and high discipline of UMPSA students in completing military training while maintaining academic excellence.
The historic ceremony was graced by the Crown Prince of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.
His Royal Highness’s arrival was welcomed by the Minister of Defence, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, the Armed Forces Chief, General Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar, as well as UPM Vice-Chancellor, Honorary Colonel Dato’ Professor Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah.
Also present to witness the ceremony was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed, representing the UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Yatimah Alias.
Also in attendance was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Lt. Col. Professor Dato Ir. Ts. Dr Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman.
