KOPUMPSA rises to 211th place in Malaysia’s Best Cooperatives 2025
KUANTAN, 7 August 2025 – Koperasi Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Berhad (KOPUMPSA) has once again made the university community proud by climbing to 211th place in the 2025 ranking of Malaysia’s Best Cooperatives.
This marks a significant improvement from its 342nd position in 2024, reflecting the strong performance achieved through the continuous dedication and collective efforts of its members.
The new ranking was announced by the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM) in its official list, which evaluated the performance of more than 16,000 registered cooperatives nationwide.
KOPUMPSA has not only advanced in position but has also consistently secured a spot among the top 350 cooperatives in Malaysia for several consecutive years since its establishment 14 years ago.

This achievement underscores the cooperative’s strong management, effective strategic planning, and the unwavering spirit of collaboration among its members.
Over the years, KOPUMPSA has diversified its activities into various sectors, including retail business operations, professional development training for university staff, and credit loan facilities for members in need.
Taking a bold step forward, KOPUMPSA is now venturing into external service businesses and real estate investments as part of its long-term growth strategy.
These initiatives aim to generate sustainable income while delivering direct economic benefits to both cooperative members and the wider UMPSA community.
KOPUMPSA Board Member, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Haji Muhamad Haji Mat Noor, attributed the achievement to strong commitment, integrity in governance, and consistent operational efficiency since the cooperative’s inception.
“The real strength of KOPUMPSA lies in the solid support of its members and the trust placed in its leadership to drive organisational transformation.
This success is not ours alone, it is the result of the collective contributions of all parties, including cooperative members, university management, customers, strategic partners, and the UMPSA community who have stood by us from the beginning.
Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen our position by enhancing our operational structure, exploring new business opportunities, and implementing impactful programmes for members and the community,” he said.
He added that as a cooperative under the supervision of SKM and UMPSA, KOPUMPSA remains committed to supporting the economic well-being of students through relevant, high-impact products and services.
“At the same time, we are determined to be a role model for other cooperatives particularly within the higher education sector by demonstrating professionalism and competitiveness in cooperative management.
With our existing strengths and the collective spirit of our members, KOPUMPSA is well on its way to becoming one of Malaysia’s most respected reference cooperatives,” he said.
With this achievement, KOPUMPSA has set a new milestone in its history, opening a fresh chapter towards more strategic and sustainable growth in the years ahead.
