MOHE, UMPSA strengthen strategic leadership through reform mindset
JERANTUT, 12 April 2026 – The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), in strategic collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), successfully organised the 2026 MOHE Top Management Revitalisation Programme, themed ‘Mind Revitalisation, Action Reform’, recently.
The three-day programme, which took place from 10 to 12 April, involved a total of 77 participants comprising MOHE’s top management.
The programme successfully strengthened strategic leadership among the ministry’s top management team.
Among those present were the MOHE Secretary-General, Datuk Dr. Anesee Ibrahim; the Deputy Secretary-General (Policy), Dato’ Dr. Haji Megat Sany Megat Ahmad Supian; the Deputy Secretary-General (Management and Development), Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohd Nor Azman Hassan; the Director-General of the Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education, Dr. Shamsuri Abdullah; as well as the Chief Executive Officer of EMGS, Novie Tajuddin.

Also present was the Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah Alias.
The main objective of organising this programme was to enhance well-being among MOHE’s top management through activities that emphasised physical health, renewed motivation and commitment, while also strengthening ties, the spirit of togetherness, and strategic collaborative networks.
Throughout the three days, various activities were carried out, with the first day beginning with an ice-breaking session and group activities to foster early interaction and strengthen relationships among participants.
The second day continued with field activities based on elements of nature and community engagement.
Participants visited Lata Berkoh Waterfall and the Kelah Sanctuary as part of team-building activities and appreciation of natural heritage.
Subsequently, participants had the opportunity to visit the Bateq Orang Asli village in Kuala Tahan, Taman Negara, where they learned about the culture and customs of this community.
During the visit, the MOHE Secretary-General, Datuk Dr. Anesee Ibrahim, presented KPT MADANI contributions, while the Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah Alias, also presented contributions from Yayasan UMPSA to the local community.
A dinner ceremony was also held, including a special appreciation session for Datuk Dr. Anesee Ibrahim, who will retire compulsorily on 10 May 2026.
The programme concluded with a learning loop session, which aimed to summarise findings, share experiences, and reflect on the programme, while strengthening participants’ understanding of the programme objectives.
According to Datuk Dr. Anesee Ibrahim, dynamic strategic leadership is the main pillar of an organisation’s success.
“Mind revitalisation is not merely a change in the way of thinking, but an urgent necessity in shaping leadership that is adaptive and competitive.
“I hope this programme will become a catalyst for action reform in every aspect of MOHE management,” he said.
He also expressed his pride and congratulations on the strong commitment shown by all participants, while recording his appreciation to UMPSA as the strategic partner that made this programme a success.
Meanwhile, Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah Alias, in her speech, also expressed appreciation to MOHE for its trust in UMPSA as the strategic partner for this programme.
“This programme reflects MOHE’s continued commitment to producing leaders who are credible, competitive, and forward-looking.
“It also serves as an important platform to strengthen collaborative ties and synergy towards improving the effectiveness of service delivery,” she said.
Also present were the Registrar of UMPSA, Dato’ Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim, and the Director of the UMPSA Talent Development Centre, Juliana Mohd Ali, who is also the Chief of the Joint Programme Secretariat.
