UMP appreciates services of frontliners as Aidilfitri approaches
PEKAN, 23 April 2022 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) appreciates the services and contributions of university frontliners who will continue to serve when most other staff will be on leave for the Eid celebration soon.
The Salam Kasih Lebaran Programme organised by the Registry Department was held recently to distribute the Eid contribution to 50 UMP staff members who will be on duty during Eid.
The contribution was presented by the UMP Registrar, Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim, at the ceremony attended by the Director of Security, Mohd Nazri Samsudin and the Manager of the Management Service Division, Registry Department, Hajah Sabarehan Haji Ismail.
According to Saiful Bahri, this contribution shows the support and togetherness with UMP frontliners who will be on duty during the Aidilfitri holiday soon.
“At the same time, it is as a support to all frontliners for their dedication to keeping the campus safe during the Aidilfitri holidays while not being able to celebrate with their families.
“The departments that require them to be on duty on Aidilfitri consist of the Security Division, the Centre for Property Development and Management (PPPH), the Centre for Information and Communication Technology (PTMK) and the Student Residence College Fellow.
“At the same time, I would like to remind UMP residents to celebrate Aidilfitri with new norms, comply with physical distancing rules, minimise visitations and avoid large gatherings to ensure that no outbreak transmission occurs so that they can return to duty later,” he said.
He said the university truly appreciates the role of the frontliners who always keep the campus in good condition.
The Director of Safety, Mohd Nazri Samsudin, also thanked UMP for the initiative to the safety staff.
“I am confident this will give a boost of enthusiasm and excitement to the members of the security forces.
“All members will remain committed to carrying out their duties to ensure that the campus and students who stay on campus are safe,” he said.
One of the recipients, a Security Officer, Sheikh Mohd Firdaus Sheikh Abdul Rahman, 36, thanked the university.
This is the fifth year he has been unable to take a leave for Aidilfitri.
However, it is not a burden for him but a duty that needs to be carried out as a security officer.
Likewise, his wife also understands his responsibilities and prepares the feast for Aidilfitri.
Even his children are used to it and after he returns from duty, he still has the opportunity to celebrate Aidilfitri even though they cannot return to their hometown in Temerloh, Pahang.
