Strengthening the Ties between BASF Petronas Chemical Sdn. Bhd. (BPC) and UMP
Kuantan, 23rd February – An official working visit by BASF Petronas Chemical Sdn. Bhd. (BPC) has taken place at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Gambang campus currently. The visit is on the invitation from German Initiative Team of Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering (FKKSA).
BASF Petronas Chemical Sdn. Bhd. was represented by Operation Director, Mr Jan Peter Bredehoeft, Director, Safety and Environment, EHS & Security Asia Pacific, Mr Ismail Abdullah and Senior Manager, Human Resource Management, Mr Koljit Singh.
BPC delegation was greeted by Dean of Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering, Prof. Zulkafli Hassan and FKKSA German Initiative Coordinator, Dr.-Ing. Aainaa Izyan Nafsun.
Prof. Zulkafli said, the aim of the meeting was to strengthen existing relationship and to discuss for future areas for collaboration between FKKSA, UMP and BPC.
“It was a fruitful meeting in which both parties agree especially on human capital development and appointment of representatives from both parties for future engagements,” he added.
Also attended the meeting was Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Industry Partnership & Community Relation), Prof. Dr. Jamil Ismail, Dean of Students Development, Ts. Dr. Muhamad Mat Noor, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering (Academic & Student Affairs), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Mohd Hafizuddin Wan Yussof and Prof. Ir. Dr.-Ing. Nik Abdullah Nik Mohamed.
The others are Deputy Dean of Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering (Research & Post Graduate Studies), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cheng Chin Kui, Head of Master Programme of Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr Chin Sim Yee, Director of Centre of Technology and Management Services, Dr. Zulkifly Jemaat, and FKKSA German Initiative Team, consist of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Said Nurdin, Dr.-Ing. Mohamad Rizza Othman and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Dalour Hossen Beg.
During this visit, BPC delegation was taken to visit UMP laboratory facilities at FKKSA Laboratory, Central Laboratory and Center of Excellence for Advanced Research in Fluid Flow (CARIFF) where the exit meeting was held in CARIFF.
