UMPSA validates 3 Regulatory Programmes at Muscat College, Oman

MUSCAT, OMAN, 5 November 2024 – A delegation from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), led by the Dean of the Faculty of Computing (FK), Associate Professor Ts. Dr Adzhar Kamaludin, and the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Management (FPI), Dr. Mohd Hanafiah Ahmad, visited Muscat College in Muscat, Oman, to validate three UMPSA-regulated programmes.

Also present was Senior Executive of the Centre for Strategic Academic Cooperation (PKSA), Zahiruddin Mohd Zain.

The programmes validated during the visit were the Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) with Honours, the Bachelor of Computer Science (Computer Systems and Networks) with Honours, and the Bachelor of Project Management with Honours.

According to Associate Professor Ts. Dr Adzhar, the visit included a documentation audit session, interviews with students and lecturers, and an inspection of the facilities at Muscat College.

He stated that the audit session concluded with an Exit Meeting aimed at improving the operations and documentation of the three UMPSA-regulated programmes.

Dr Mohd Hanafiah added that the visit provided an opportunity to hold interview sessions and carry out activities to enhance the regulatory programmes at Muscat College.

A seminar on the implementation of the Outcome-Based Learning (OBE) method was also held. The seminar focused on the assessment and teaching of regulatory programmes.

Additionally, a workshop on the OBE method was conducted using sample final examination questions.

Students at Muscat College were given the opportunity to gain information on pursuing postgraduate studies at UMPSA. 

These include master’s and doctorate (PhD) levels as part of the collaboration between the two institutions.

To date, a total of 303 students at Muscat College are enrolled in the UMPSA-regulated programmes. These programmes include the Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) with Honours, the Bachelor of Computer Science (Computer Systems and Networks) with Honours, and the Bachelor of Project Management with Honours.
