This collaboration also involves research through the information sharing of the Pahang State Secretariat Office with the lecturers of the Faculty of Computing at the university.
UMP will provide colocation services for the State Government Disaster Relief Centre infrastructure at the UMP Pekan Data Centre and related big data analytics development projects through the signing of this strategic partnership.
The ceremony saw the Pahang State Secretary, Dato’ Sri Dr. Sallehuddin Ishak signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin at the ceremony held in Cherating, Kuantan.

“The Pahang State Secretariat Office is a state government agency that aims to combine the needs of two main elements, namely quality governance and inclusive socio-economic development.
“The joint efforts in developing training programmes, workshops and big data analytics development projects planned by both parties have resulted in many innovations that are capable of creating a holistic and inclusive service delivery system.
“Among the innovations that have been carried out are the development of e-Housing, e-Munakahat and the State Religious Secondary School Management System (SPSMA) apps,” he said.
The collaboration with the Pahang State Secretariate Office also aligns with the UMP Strategic Plan 2021-2025 involving collaborative relationships with government agencies in producing innovation and research that benefits the community.
Meanwhile, according to Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Sallehuddin, through this MoU, UMP consultancy services and expertise could help improve the skills and potential of officers under the state government administration to implement and continue this big data initiative in the future.
“In addition to collaboration in the field of big data analytics, it involves the placement of a new Pahang State Disaster Relief Centre (DRC) by colocation from Kompleks Tun Razak (Komtur) Indera Mahkota to the UMP premises in Pekan.
“The signing of this MoU can be a field for brainstorming, improving existing innovations and generating new innovations.
“Furthermore, it aims to determine the direction in enhancing and empowering the development of service innovation in the state of Pahang as well as to streamline the delivery of state government services to the people,” he said.
