UMPSA seals partnership with BEIBU Gulf University
QINZHOU CITY, CHINA, 4 June 2024 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) collaborates with BEIBU Gulf University (BGU) located in Qinzhou City, China, to focus on academic collaboration, staff and student exchange, research development, and edutourism programmes that benefit both universities.
Present to sign the memorandum of understanding (MoU) was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed representing the UMPSA Vice-Chancellor.
According to Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim, BGU is a university that offers engineering, science and management, including maritime sector such as port management, shipping, handling and others.
“There are many potential industries to explore, including warehousing and logistics,” he said.
BGU has established a BBGU-UMPSA collaboration laboratory for collaboration in research, supervision and joint publication that can be utilised by staff and students.
Also present were the Assistant Vice-Chancellor of the Centre for Industry and Community Network (ICoN), Professor Datin Ts. Dr. Mimi Sakinah Abdul Munaim, Director of the Centre for Advanced TVET, Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Shahrir Mohd Sani and General Manager of the Student Affairs and Alumni Department (JHEPA), Haryani Abdullah.
BGU was represented by its Vice President, Yin Yanzhen, Deputy Director, International Exchange Department, Liu Weiling, Deputy Director of the Office of Academic Affairs, Wu Bingjun and Deputy Dean of the College of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering, Chen Bo.
This collaboration involved a strategic collaboration partner, Premium Language Center (PLC) Kuala Lumpur, which was attended by the Project Coordinator, Dato’ Rocky Foo Wei Sze.
PLC is a UMPSA strategic partner to assist overseas collaboration programmes including from Middle Eastern countries, namely UAE, Iraq, Libya and others.
Also present was the Director, Department of Chemical Engineering and Technology, College of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering, Zhang Binbin.
