KUALA LUMPUR, 25 May 2024 - A total of 21 students and five staff of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) participated in the Malaysia-China Advanced TVET International Mobility Programme (MyChaT 2024) from 25 May to 5 June 2024.
The programme, which was also joined by three Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) students and one Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) student, provided participants the opportunity to take part in high-level training with higher education institutions in China.
The release ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed at KLIA 2.
Also present was the Head of BELIA MAHIR, Mohammad Rizan Hassan.
According to Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim, the Student Mobility Programme is one of the main key performance indicators (KPIs) under the Critical Agenda Program (CAPS) for internationalisation in the National Higher Education Strategic Plan (PSTPN).
“This organisation can become a human transformer and culture builder to change the country’s educational and economic landscape in line with the recommendations of the Minister of Higher Education, Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir.
“The organisation of the second series also focuses on the participation of students to undergo training in automotive engineering and electric vehicle (EV) technology at Beifang International Education China.
“Previously, the first phase was attended by 20 students and staff who took courses and received professional certification under MYChAT which gave participants the opportunity to undergo up-skilling training in the field of artificial intelligence at Beijing Polytechnic,” he said.
The strategic collaboration between UMPSA, the National Organization of Skilled Workers (BELIA MAHIR), Tang International Education Group and the Government of the Republic of China through the Belt & Road Initiatives is a global infrastructure development strategy that will directly benefit the development of highly skilled national human capital in meeting the national and world job market.
