7 UMPSA subjects ranked globally, Engineering and Technology dominates world’s top 451–500 band

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) continues to strengthen its reputation on the international stage as seven specific subjects and one broad subject area have received global recognition in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, recently announced by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

As one of the leading technical universities in Malaysia, UMPSA recorded a significant achievement by being ranked in the broad area of Engineering and Technology in the 451–500 band globally.

This achievement sees UMPSA, as a leading technical university in Malaysia, listed in seven subjects at commendable positions, namely Petroleum Engineering (101–150), Engineering – Chemical (301–350), Engineering – Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing (301–350), Materials Science (301–350), Engineering – Electrical & Electronic (351–400), Chemistry (551–600), as well as Computer Science & Information Systems (751–850).

UMPSA to explore collaboration with Chongqing University (CQU) in
Civil Engineering and Construction Technology

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) will explore collaboration with Chongqing University, a prestigious university in China that offers programmes in engineering and technology, particularly in civil engineering, construction technology, and environment.

According to the Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah Alias, this visit provides an opportunity for both parties to discuss potential international academic collaboration, particularly in offering a Dual Degree programme at the postgraduate level in civil engineering.

“This international collaboration will realise the internationalisation agenda in line with the UMPSA Strategic Plan 2026–2030 and its position as a strategic institution serving as an Advanced TVET hub in this region.

UMPSA, Move Robotic, and PIX Moving
forge strategic collaboration in Japan

A significant milestone is unfolding for Malaysia’s technology ecosystem as Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Move Robotic Sdn. Bhd., and PIX Moving Inc., through its subsidiary Pix Intelligence Inc., officially formalised a strategic collaboration to advance autonomous mobility.

The collaboration marks more than a routine partnership, representing a progressive evolution in the development of autonomous vehicle (AV) technologies.

While UMPSA and Move Robotic have previously established foundational collaboration, the inclusion of PIX Moving, a recognised global player in autonomous technology, elevates the partnership to a new level.

UMPSA strengthens international network with two universities from Uzbekistan

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) marked an important milestone today in the internationalisation of higher education by formalising strategic collaboration with two institutions from Uzbekistan.

The ceremony witnessed the Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah Alias, signing a memorandum of understanding with the Rector of Namangan State Technical University (NamSTU), Professor Dr. Oybek Ergashev, and the Rector of Samarkand State Architecture and Construction University (SamSACU), Dr. Cigdem Canbay Turkyilmaz.

Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Ts. Dr. Aida Mustapha, and the Deputy Rector for International Cooperation, NamSTU, Dr. Ilhom Abdurahmonov.

Also in attendance were the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology, Associate Professor Dr. Noram Irwan Ramli, and the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology, Associate Professor Dr. Aizi Nor Mazila Ramli.
