UMPSA collaborates with Alps Electric (M) Sdn. Bhd.

PEKAN, 23 August 2024 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) continues to strengthen its cooperation with industry partners through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between UMPSA and Alps Electric (M) Sdn. Bhd.

The ceremony was witnessed by UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, and Managing Director of Alps Electric (M) Sdn. Bhd., Wataru Tezuka, who signed the MoU at a ceremony held at the Banquet Hall, Tun Abdul Razak Chancellery, UMPSA Pekan, recently.

Also present were the Manager of Alps Electric (M) Sdn. Bhd., Mohammad Azman Mansor, and the Dean of the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronics Engineering Technology (FTKPM), Associate Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Faiz Mohd Turan.

According to Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, the collaboration between UMPSA and Alps Electric (M) Sdn. Bhd. will benefit from the sharing of expertise in work-based learning (WBL), which is a method designed to help students gain mastery of activity-based learning in the workplace.

"Through this memorandum of understanding, the collaboration network will be expanded, and it will further develop the knowledge and technology transfer process within the CEO@Faculty Program and research development.

"UMPSA, as one of the universities in the Malaysian Technical Universities Network (MTUN), also offers a Bachelor of Technology (BTEC) programme, which is designed to provide a higher education pathway for graduates from TVET institutions such as Vocational Colleges and Skills Training Institutions," he added.

Wataru Tezuka expressed confidence that this collaboration would lead to more opportunities, especially in the fields of Manufacturing Engineering and Mechatronics, benefiting both parties, particularly the students.

Alps Electric (M) Sdn. Bhd. is involved in areas such as transportation systems, automotive, energy systems, and vehicle safety systems.
