SUKUM 43rd Officially Close

Kuantan, 18 August – Universiti Malaysia Pahang marked the end of the 43rd Intervarsity Staff Sport (SUKUM) with a colourful closing ceremony at the Astaka Hall in UMP Gambang campus. 

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mashitah Mohd Yusoff officially closed the 43rd SUKUM on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor. 

2 Gold Medals for UMP

Team UMP won its first two gold medals on August 12, beating the rest of the opponents in individual and group category in fishing tournament.  

Tuan Mohd Haffiz Tuan Ahmad, Saiful Kamaluddin Mazakir @Lokman, Azahar Mohd Yasin, Hairilamri Ibrahim, Nashrul Izwadey Abdul Rahman and Mohd Nazri Jaafar defeated the IIUM and UKM with the total catch weighing up to 14.91kg. IIUM won the second place with a 12.1kg while UKM came in third with 11.05 kg. 

43rd SUKUM Officially Open in Universiti Malaysia Pahang

Kuantan, 11 August – the opening ceremony of the 43rd Intervarsity Staff Sport (SUKUM) kicked off with a stunning performances. The ceremony took place at the University Sports Complex in UMP Gambang campus. 

The procession of the flags of the 21 participating contingents accompanies by a musical performance followed next. Then came the parade of the contingents, athletes and officials from the participating universities. 

UMP Aims for Top 10 in 43rd SUKUM

Kuantan, 7 August – Universiti Malaysia Pahang aims to be in the top 10 standings in this upcoming 43rd SUKUM. UMP will be hosting this year edition of Kejohanan Sukan Staf Antara Universiti Malaysia.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin said, our athletes are physically and mentally prepared and very enthusiastic to compete. 

UMP awarded its first Vice-Chancellor Quality Award to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FKM) is celebrating its first Vice-Chancellor Quality Award (AKNC), the first departmental award since it was introduced in the year 2012 by the University Malaysia Pahang (UMP). The award is based on the criteria set by the Prime Minister’s Innovation Award (AIPM) in recognition to the significant achievements of the faculty in the three main criteria namely faculty’s organization, core service, and client management.

UMP close a deal with HP

Penang, 25 Jun – Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and HP Malaysia close a deal today with the signing of memorandum of understanding focusing in teaching and research project. 

The memorandum involves Faculty of Manufacturing Engineering (FKP) to develop RFID System that could enhance the efficiency of logistic delivery and product review in the industry. 

UMP Collaborates with Bank Rakyat to offer i-Education Financing

Kuala Lumpur, 9th July - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Bank Rakyat to help students further their studies to a higher level. Through this strategic alliance, qualified students can apply for i-Education Financing for up to RM1 million with a financing period of up to 20 years at competitive profit rates.

We Nailed it!5 Star's for QS Rating

University Malaysia Pahang (UMP) has officially been ranked five stars for QS Stars Rating on 17 July 2018. QS Stars rating encompasses of assessment for eight categories namely Teaching, Employability, Research, Internationalization, Facilities, Innovation, Inclusiveness and Programme Strength.

545 new students registered for diploma programme

Kuantan, 25 June – A total of 545 new diploma students registered for 2018/2019 academic session. About 70 per cent of the registered students are male students while 30 per cent are female students pursuing their studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FKM), Faculty of Computer System & Software Engineering (FSKKP), Faculty of Chemical & Natural Resources Engineering (FKKSA), Faculty of Electrical & Electronis Engineering (FKEE) and the Faculty of Civil Engineering & Earth Resources Engineering (FKASA).
