UMPSA remains country’s No. 1 technical university

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) remains the best technical university in the country, having held the No. 1 position among the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN) institutions for four consecutive years.

The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, announced on 9 October 2025, listed UMPSA in the 601–800 range of the world’s best universities, also ranking it as the ninth-best university in Malaysia among both public and private institutions.

UMPSA is the 16th public university established by the government to offer higher education programmes focusing on Engineering and Technology, as well as serving as the nation’s Advanced (High-Level) TVET provider.

UMPSA welcomes Japanese Ambassador, strengthens academic and industry ties

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) received a courtesy visit from the Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, His Excellency Shikata Noriyuki, accompanied by Ms. Masubuchi Kana, Second Secretary, at its Pekan campus this week.

The delegation was welcomed by UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Yatimah Alias, alongside members of the university’s senior management team and a group of UMPSA alumni who pursued their studies in Japan.

The reception, held at the Banquet Hall, Chancellery Tun Abdul Razak, showcased the strong and enduring ties between UMPSA and Japan.

In her welcoming remarks, Professor Dr. Yatimah expressed her appreciation to H.E. Shikata Noriyuki and Ms. Masubuchi Kana for their presence at UMPSA.

UMPSA advances global networks at EAIE 2025 and official visit to Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) participated in the European Association for International Education (EAIE) 2025 Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden, with a mission to strengthen global academic and research collaborations. 

The participation also focused on expanding opportunities through Erasmus+ programmes such as Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE), International Credit Mobility (KA171), as well as Joint Master initiatives and Research Partnerships. 

This platform opened opportunities for student exchanges, staff training, curriculum development, and collaborative research with leading universities worldwide.
