UMPSA celebrates 115 loyal staff members in Majlis Sanjungan Budi 2025
PEKAN, 14 April 2025 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) honoured the service and dedication of 115 staff members who have devoted two decades of service to the university in Majlis Sanjugan Budi 2025, held in conjunction with the Vice-Chancellor’s Address Ceremony at the Multipurpose Hall, UMPSA Pekan.
The annual ceremony was held to express appreciation for staff members who have served the university for 20 years.
It aligns with UMPSA’s commitment to cultivating noble values, respecting the contributions of its workforce, and strengthening the spirit of unity within the campus community.
The event was officiated by the Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Dr. Yatimah Alias, who also delivered her annual address to the entire university community.
In her speech, she expressed her appreciation for the significant contributions of the recipients, who have been among the pillars of strength for UMPSA since its establishment.
“UMPSA would not be where it is today without the dedication, perseverance, and unwavering loyalty of the staff who have been with us for the past two decades.
“You are all the backbone of this university.
“Majlis Sanjungan Budi is not merely symbolic—it is a sincere gesture of gratitude for invaluable service and sacrifice,” she said.
The ceremony was also attended by the Chairman of the UMPSA Board of Directors, Dato’ Seri Abdul Razak Jaafar, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Professor Dato’ Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Ts. Dr. Aida Mustapha, along with members of the university’s top management, who witnessed the presentation of appreciation certificates and special mementos to the celebrated staff.
The heartfelt and vibrant atmosphere of the ceremony clearly reflected the deep respect accorded to those who have loyally served since the university’s early days.
The event also offered the university community a moment to reflect on UMPSA’s founding history and the long journey undertaken together.
It served as a platform to strengthen identity and unity among staff while encouraging younger generations of employees to emulate the loyalty and commitment displayed.
The organisation of this ceremony is also in line with the objective of nurturing a culture of appreciation and recognition for the workforce in accordance with the university’s core values of integrity, professionalism, and community engagement.
Majlis Sanjungan Budi 2025 not only symbolised institutional recognition for the contributions of experienced staff but also served as an inspiration for the entire UMPSA community to continue serving with dedication and resolve in pursuit of academic excellence in today’s challenging higher education landscape.
