UMPSA Open Day enlivens Jom Masuk U 2024 East Zone II
GAMBANG, 1 June 2024 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) will hold an Open Day in conjunction with the Jom Masuk U 2024 East Zone II programme on 1 and 2 June at the UMPSA Sports Complex Hall of the Gambang Campus.
According to the UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, the main purpose of this Open Day is to provide opportunities for the public and local communities to enter UMPSA while enjoying the beauty and unique campus environment.
“This event also aims to bring the university closer to the community through various interesting and beneficial activities.
“Visitors can learn Mandarin, participate in colouring competitions, get free health checks and learn first aid methods such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) technique,” he said.
For parents who want to encourage their children’s interest in science and mathematics, activities such as Street Science and STEM will also be held throughout the two days of the programme.
This programme is also held in conjunction with the National TVET Day.
Several faculties at UMPSA will reach out to the community with interesting activities such as drones and robotics.
He added that universities are certainly no strangers to research products that are close to the community.
“Therefore, on this Open Day, we also showcase research products in line with the UMPSA slogan, Technology for Society.
“For those who are looking for a job, the Registry Department counter will offer career services with several job opportunities available at UMPSA.
“This is a good opportunity for job seekers to get more information and maybe have the opportunity to be part of the UMPSA big family,” he said.
He also hoped that the local community would be able to attend UMPSA as this programme could attract more students and parents to choose UMPSA as a higher education destination.
“This Open Day can provide a real insight into campus life and the facilities we provide, as well as inspire students to excel in academic and practical skills.
“In addition, the state-of-the-art and modern laboratory facilities at UMPSA will also be open to visitors.
“This provides an opportunity for visitors to see the facilities provided and understand the importance of laboratories for a university.
“With various activities planned and the involvement of committed faculties, UMPSA Open Day is expected to be an event that not only entertains but also educates and inspires visitors.
“Come to the UMPSA Sports Complex Hall of Gambang Campus on 1 and 2 June to enjoy a valuable and fun experience,” he said.
