100 UMP students receive laptop assistance from FGV Holdings Berhad Group
PEKAN, 15 February 2023 - A total of 100 Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) students received laptop assistance from FGV Holdings Berhad Group in collaboration with Muslim Care Malaysia to fulfil their social responsibilities to the community.
Chief Human Capital Officer, FGV Holdings Berhad Group, Razman Radzi and Muslim Care Malaysia President, Haji Zulkifli Wahijan were present to hand over a cheque replica of the Project For You Students (Laptop Assistance) amounting to RM324,900 to the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin.
According to Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, this programme was a manifestation of a friendly and close collaboration network between the university, especially with the FGV Holdings Berhad Group and Muslim Care Malaysia which is seen as a potential to explore strategic collaboration from a broader and high-impact perspective.
“Students receive a donation of 100 laptops, especially students with needs.
“Those selected have already undergone screening and interviews by the faculty and the Student Affairs and Alumni Department,” he said at a ceremony held at the Tun Abdul Razak Chancellery Banquet Hall, UMP Pekan.
He added that UMP always focuses on the welfare aspect and among the initiatives introduced through Yayasan UMP include Zakat Assistance, Student Death Relief, Disaster Assistance, Working Student Scheme, Early Study Assistance, Education Incentives, and others that benefit more than 1,500 students who had received it through these initiatives until December 2022.
He also hoped that students could take advantage of the help of laptops and welfare facilities to achieve success and excellence in education throughout life as university students.
In addition, he also advised students to continue to serve and contribute to the country and the community when they graduate.
To date, 260 students have benefited from laptop donations including initiatives from Yayasan UMP and Yayasan Prihatin.
