Choose to Share, 4 sponsors provide assistance to UMPSA students
PEKAN, 11 December 2024 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) received contributions from four main sponsors during the Choose to Share Handover Ceremony organised by Yayasan UMPSA, held at the Banquet Hall, UMPSA Pekan.
The contributions aim to alleviate the burden on students through various educational initiatives provided by the sponsors, which include Lembaga Tabung Haji, Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YaPEIM) Pahang, Yayasan Pelajaran MARA, and Ekuiti Nasional Berhad.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Ts. Dr Aida Mustapha officiated the ceremony.
She expressed her gratitude to the sponsors who have supported UMPSA students.
“May this contribution benefit them in continuing their studies without financial obstacles.
“I also hope that this close collaboration can continue between the university and external organisations in efforts to support the welfare of UMPSA students.
“With this strong collaboration, the university also hopes that more UMPSA students will gain access to quality education without being burdened by financial problems,” she said.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives from the main sponsors, including the Pahang State Director of Lembaga Tabung Haji, Tuan Haji Rosdi Dollah; YaPEIM Pahang Manager, Nor Khalilah Hanim Hamid; and Human Development Executive Officer of Yayasan Pelajaran MARA, Aidah Hussain, who presented the contributions to be channelled through several educational assistance programmes targeted at UMPSA students.
The four sponsors involved in this handover were Lembaga Tabung Haji, contributing RM550,000; Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YAPEIM), contributing RM110,000; Yayasan Pelajaran MARA, contributing RM30,000; and Ekuiti Nasional Berhad, contributing RM25,000.
A total of 30 UMPSA students received this assistance, with 10 students for each initiative.
Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International Affairs), Professor Dato Ir. Ts. Dr Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Professor Ts. Dr Mohamad Rusllim Mohamed; and the University Management team.
This ceremony also symbolises the collaboration between Yayasan UMPSA and the Student Affairs and Alumni Department in an effort to ensure that students can enjoy a better education without being burdened by financial problems.
