Commenting on examples of employment opportunities for graduates from FTKPM, Ts. Dr. Muhamed Nafis said that FTKPM graduates have great employment opportunities in various engineering sectors due to the non-traditional engineering field of study.

“FTKPM graduates are sought after by employers at the local and international levels.

“The starting salary rate offered is in the range of RM2,500 to RM10,000,” he said.

He added that this shows a good job market for FTKPM graduates who have attended academic programmes that meet industry needs and standards.

Currently, FTKPM offers eight academic programmes, namely Bachelor of Manufacturing Engineering with Honours, Bachelor of Mechatronic Engineering with Honours and Bachelor of Mechatronic Engineering with Honours (Dual Degree).

Others are Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Manufacturing) with Honours, Bachelor of Manufacturing Engineering Technology (Industrial Automation) with Honours, Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering Technology (Robotics) with Honours, Bachelor of Industrial Machinery Technology with Honours and Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering Technology.

FTKPM also offers a dual degree programme conducted in collaboration with Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA), Germany in the field of mechatronics.

The curriculum of this program was established in collaboration with the institution and received recognition from major industry players from Germany such as Vacuumschmelse Sdn. Bhd., Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Robert Bosch Automotive Steering Sdn. Bhd. and others.

According to Ts. Dr. Muhamed Nafis, the teaching staff for this programme consists of local lecturers and lecturers who came from Germany.
