iFUTURE@UMPSA gathers young leadership talents at global level

GAMBANG, 19 June 2025 – The iFUTURE@UMPSA programme took place in full splendour at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Gambang Campus, bringing together various parties, including students, lecturers, agencies, and industries, in driving the nation’s future talent development agenda.

The programme is an aspiration of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) to ensure that the nation’s future leaders are exposed to various national and global issues.

Among the main attractions was the iFUTURE Forum, which featured a prestigious session moderated by Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Nurul Hazlina Noordin, along with invited panellists, the President and Chief Executive Officer of TNB, Datuk Ir. Megat Jalaludin Megat Hassan, and the Pahang State Executive Councillor for Investment, Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dato’ Mohd Nizar Mohamad Najib.

This edition of iFUTURE featured three main series focusing on Women Empowerment, the TVET Agenda, and the ASEAN Student Dialogue, which also gathered participation from students of various international universities, including Universitas Indonesia, Vietnam University of Ho Chi Minh, University of Southeastern Philippines, Svay Rieng University (Cambodia), and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).

UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah Alias also conveyed her congratulations to the organisers.

“Congratulations and well done to the UMPSA Students’ Representative Council (MPP) under the leadership of Muhammad Haykal Halid for successfully managing this iFUTURE programme in its entirety.

“This aligns with the Student Empowerment Agenda at UMPSA.

“This programme also created a historic moment with the official launch of Program Kembara Mobiliti Antarabangsa UMPSA involving more than 1,000 students who will participate in internationalisation programmes across more than 13 countries,” she said.

Professor Dr. Yatimah added that this step is a significant leap in the effort to empower Malaysian students, particularly those from UMPSA, as global citizens with intercultural experiences and international leadership skills.

“In fact, this programme also strengthens collaboration networking between academia, industry, and government, and serves as a strategic platform to produce holistic, leadership-oriented, and globally competitive graduates,” she added.

Also held was a gathering of more than 1,000 international and local students who took part in various activities throughout the programme.
