UMPSA appointed as the Secretariat of MPEN Pahang
KUANTAN, 6 December 2023 - The Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has been appointed as the Secretariat of the Pahang State Economic Advisory Council (MPEN).
MPEN Pahang is an initiative from the Pahang State Government administration to advance the economy of the people of this state, covering all aspects of development.
Recently held, the first MPEN Meeting and appointment letter submission session was conducted by the Chief Minister of Pahang, Dato' Sri Haji Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail at Wisma Sri Pahang.
Present at the ceremony was the former Chairman of CIMB Berhad (CIMB), Tan Sri Mohamed Nazir Abdul Razak, who was appointed as the Chairman of the Pahang State Economic Advisory Council (MPEN) effective from 1st December.
MPEN members present at the ceremony included Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman, Tan Sri Professor Dr. Noorul Ainur Mohd. Nur, Tan Sri Krishnan Tan Boon Seng, Honorable Dato' Mohamad Nizar Dato' Sri Mohamad Najib, and Low Ngai Yuen. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Ts. Dr. Kamal Zuhairi Zamli, was also in attendance.
In the meantime, UMPSA Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister of Pahang, Dato' Sri Haji Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, and the Pahang State Government for appointing UMPSA as the MPEN Pahang Secretariat.
MPEN will play a crucial role in leading the formulation of the Pahang State Economic Master Plan and implementation plan, as well as providing strategic advice on economic development opportunities, challenges, and new economic developments. The focus will be on industrial development, innovation, investment attraction, trade, regional development, and workforce development.
